Distance Learning and Hi-Tech Classrooms

The Greater Hartford Campus offers some of the latest instructional technologies in its classrooms that allow faculty and students to benefit from a new world of resources.

Hi-Tech Classrooms

Hi Tech Classroom Hi-Tech Classrooms, controlled by desk mounted touch screen technology, allows users to choose from several “sources” and direct those sources to a large screen LCD projector, TV monitors or both.  Sources include: desktop computer; document camera; DVD player; VHS VCR; 35mm slide projector and laptop computer.  All visual sources are supported by an overhead sound system.

Distance Learning Classrooms

Distance Learning ClassroomDistance Learning (DL) or Interactive Television (ITV) is comprised of an ITV equipped classroom on the Greater Hartford Campus that connects with Storrs and the other regional UConn Campuses.  All rooms are capable of point-to-point IP connections and allow instructors to send their camera image and course content (i.e. Powerpoint, web, DVD, etc...) simultaneously.  DL classrooms permit UConn to offer courses that may not otherwise be viable on this campus.
